ACVV (Afikaanse Christelike Vrouevereniging) is a christian womens organisation which was established in 1904 and is the oldest NPO in the social service field. 115 Branches in the Western Cape, Eastern Cape, Northern Cape and North West province are affiliated to the National Council with the Head office in Cape Town.
The ACVV is one of only a few designated child protection organisations (DCPO) in South Africa. In terms of the Children’s Act it means that the ACVV may render the full scope of child protection services, i.e. from prevention programs to statutory intervention. ACVV Paarl-Vallei branch is situated in Northern Paarl, at Lang street 14, and is managed by local volunteers.

Community projects are also undertaken to inform children, parents and the public about the Children's Act, children's rights, HIV- aids and drug abuse. The designated area in which ACVV Paarl-Valley renders services is very big and stretches from the Northern part of Paarl to the rural areas north and west of Paarl.
